Drumming Goodbye for the QM2
We had a great time drumming for Cunard’s Queen Mary 2, the world’s biggest ocean liner, as she sailed from Liverpool to New York!
It was an iconic moment as Cunard’s Queen Mary 2 sailed off into the sunset from our wonderful city of Liverpool.
Drummers, opera singers, fireworks, confetti and lots of waving from passengers and well-wishers showed the true character of Liverpool; friendly, welcoming, exciting – a city steeped in maritime history.
The celebratory send-off was featured on BBC Two series Our Coast, where Adrian Chiles joined our band for a quick drum lesson!
As long as 4 football pitches (!) with nearly 3000 passengers, QM2 dominated the city skyline – and yes, she is bigger than the Titanic!
Cruise Liverpool captured the incredible scenes with this fantastic video below – we were honoured to be part of the goodbyes and get emotional watching it back!
What a day to remember! 💙 Cunard QM2 we miss you already 🚢✨ This video gets us totes emosh 😭
