A Brazilian Carnival Block or Bloco is pretty much a MASSIVE street party – a roaming drumming band that gets the crowds pumping!

With weekly rehearsals and regular gigs, Katumba Bloco is a great opportunity for people of all ages to make friends, learn a new skill, build confidence and become part of our growing family!

Our team of professional musicians teach you EVERYTHING you need to know – from the basics of drumming and moving with a drum, to how you can continue to develop your skills, ready to perform at some of our glitziest gigs around Liverpool, the UK and the world!

We treasure the diversity which every individual person contributes to our Katumba family, welcoming ALL levels of experience, from complete beginner to seasoned performer.

All drumming equipment (drum sticks, etc) is provided for the first few months whilst you find your feet, and you don’t need to buy a drum – unless you want to!

*Joining our band is not for the faint-hearted; some commitment and dedication is required to really immerse yourself in the Katumba experience 💪
